What is Umrah?
Umrah is the trip that brings the most happiness and satisfaction to both the traveller and the person he or she left behind. Being on this holy trip is a great honour from the Almighty, and you should be very proud to be a guest of Allah.
Planning an Umrah but have kids? When planning Umrah with their children, parents worry a lot. Parents have a hard time taking care of small children during Umrah because they have to do the rituals of Umrah and keep an eye on their kids, especially if they have more than one child.
Umrah, on the other hand, is what every Muslim in the world wants most and what they hope to do in the end. Every Muslim man and woman wants to go to the house of Allah Almighty at least once in their lives. So, when He gives you a chance, don’t wait. You can deal with kids if you plan things out. There are no daycare centres in Makkah, so you have to keep your kids with you all the time.
Kids older than 5 are easy to take care of, but babies and kids younger than 5 can be hard. Many parents want to take their kids on Umrah, but some are cautious and others are brave. If, God forbid, your child gets lost, you should call the security staff right away, because lost kids are usually with them. Instead of running around looking for food and water for your baby, you should always have a baby bag with you that has everything you need.
If it’s summer, make sure your child has a lot of water. Ihram isn’t required for toddlers or kids, but a lot of parents want their kids to wear it. If this is the case, it’s important to tell your child all the rules of ihram. Make sure that your child never does anything that disrespects ihram. Keeping all of these things in mind will help you make the most of your Umrah with your kids.
Umrah Procedure with Kids:
When planning Umrah with kids, there are some things to keep in mind. First of all, your kids need to know why they are going on Umrah and what it means. Umrah isn’t like a typical family vacation or trip, but it is a great way to honour your faith, and your kids need to know that before you leave. Telling them ahead of time that there will be a lot of travel, prayer, and supplication during Umrah will help prepare their minds. Teach your child simple prayers that are easy to remember and say.
When going to the most crowded places and events known to man, it is very important to teach and remind your child to stay close to you. It hurts a lot to lose a child, so you should keep a close eye on him, hold his hand, and if you have to, tie him up to make sure you don’t lose him. The truth is that if you don’t take care of your child, he or she could get hurt, which is very sad.
Prepare Child with Mentally Satisfy:
Prepare your child’s mind for the fact that they won’t be going on a picnic and that food won’t always be easy to find. Tell them what will happen if they wait, and bring a bag with some of their favourite foods and drinks. In a place with so many people, shoes are the most common thing to get lost.
To avoid problems, always keep an extra pair of shoes for your child in a sack or bag. Plan healthy things for your child to do while you are on Umrah. There are many interesting places to see in Makah and Madinah. As I’ve already said, it’s very hot in Saudi Arabia, and kids can easily get dehydrated. To avoid this, keep them from being too active and give them lots of water (Zamzam) instead of soft or cold drinks. Strollers are not allowed in the mosque, and kids can’t walk too far because they’ll get tired and cause trouble. You can rent wheel chairs for your kids, so get one and put them in it.
Preparation for vaccine:
Adults and kids both have to get vaccinated. It’s best to give kids their shots a few weeks or months ahead of time, in case they get a fever or show any other side effects or allergies. It’s awful that your child gets sick right before the end. Kids over the age of 6 should wear ihram, but younger kids don’t have to.
When you are in holy land, pay special attention to how you dress. Dress according to Islamic culture, and make sure your little angels (girls) wear hijab. You shouldn’t bring robot toys or dolls that sing, electronic gadgets, or cell phones into the mosque. However, you can bring simple toys for your babies to keep them busy.
