Get a chance to hang out with the person who made everything:
Umrah gives you the chance to be a holy guest of the Supreme Creator of the whole universe, who is also the King of all Kingdoms. The first and best thing that pilgrims can get out of Umrah is to be a guest of Allah Almighty. Umrah can be performed after booking the low-cost Ramadan umrah package. He SWT hosts the person who spends his time and money to please Allah Almighty with good intentions. Hazrat Abu Huraira R.A. said that Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said:
“Allah has three guests: the Ghazi, who fights in Jihad only for the sake of Allah, the Hajji, who goes to Mecca to worship, and the Mu’tamir, who goes to Mecca to worship but doesn’t go to Mecca.
Hadith No. 2626, Book of the Rites of Hajj, Sunan An-Nasa’i, Vol. 3.
Just thinking about being a guest of Allah sends shivers down my spine, but this is the best feeling in the world. As soon as the pilgrim gets there, he feels a strange sense of calm. It helps him feel peace, purity, cleanliness, and satisfaction in his soul, body, and mind in a strange way.
Chance to get rid of his sins: Sin is part of being human, but Umrah gives us a chance to get rid of our sins and free our body and soul from the weight of our past mistakes. Hazrat Abu Huraira RA told us that our beloved Holy Prophet PBUH said:
“Each Umrah makes up for what happened in between, and “Hajj Al-Mabrur” brings no less than Heaven as a reward.”
On the day of judgement, it keeps us safe because all of the small sins we did before going on Umrah are washed away. So, the person is cleansed of all the sins he has done in the past and feels like he is born again with a pure soul and body. He Almighty gives everyone He made a chance to ask for forgiveness, and if they do, He forgives them in an instant. So, now is our chance to find out what He wants, and Umrah is the best way to do that.
Strengthen our faith: In today’s busy world, we sin a lot without even realising it, which weakens our faith over time. But when a person goes to perform Umrah with true and pure intentions just for the sake of Allah Almighty and does all the rituals of Umrah without making any mistakes, it definitely brings him closer to Allah SWT. Along with its other benefits, Umrah helps the person who does it strengthen his faith. Strong faith is the best thing a believer can have, and without it, he or she is just like any other person. He has to remember that his Eman is what makes him unique in this life and in the next. So, we have to work hard to build up our faith. We’ve already written a blog post about how to strengthen our Eman. You can read it to learn more.
Gives you physical strength: The beauty of Islam is that it helps you in every way, even though you do it for Allah Almighty. He is the best giver, and He gives us a lot more than we deserve. When you do Umrah, it gives you strength and helps you get over illnesses in your body. As your soul gets lighter, so does your body. Umrah adds to our daily food and supplies and keeps our bodies healthy.
Removes Poverty: Umrah is one of the best ways to worship and a beautiful Sunnah of our beloved Holy Prophet, so how could Allah SWT not give something in return? The Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
“Do Hajj and Umrah right after each other, because they get rid of poverty and sin like hollers get rid of dirt from iron.”
Through this beautiful Hadith, it’s easy to see that performing Umrah is a way to get rid of poverty. By following the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), we can get another benefit of Umrah: the end of poverty. Allah SWT gives the pilgrims money when they spend it just to ask for forgiveness and please their Lord. Muslim jurists say that everyone who can afford to and is physically able to should make at least one Umrah in their lives. This can be done with or before Hajj or at any other time of the year. Hazrat Ayesha RA said:
“Whoever leaves his home only to go on Hajj or Umrah and then dies, he will have nothing and no responsibilities on the Day of Reckoning, and he will be told to go to Jannah.”
Reward equal to Jihad: Jihad is one of the best things a Muslim can do, but not everyone has the chance to do it. Jihad is an act of great love and devotion, so the reward for it is to die. There is no active Jihad that Muslims can take part in today, but if you do Umrah, you will get a reward that is the same as Jihad. Allah’s Messenger said:
The person who fights in Allah’s name, the pilgrim, and the person who does Umrah are all Allah’s provision. He called them, and they answered. They asked about His resignation, and he told them.
At another time, he said:
“Hajj and Umrah are the Jihad of the old, the young, the weak, and the women.”
The beautiful Hadith tells us that people who aren’t strong enough got a lot more reward for doing Umrah than those who were strong enough.
